The nostalgic tram project, which was among the election promises of Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, has started to come to life with the first concrete step taken quietly. Reminiscent of the nostalgic trams in Taksim, Istanbul, with the words “IsmetpasaA striking tram with the inscription “WE WILL BE ABLE TO GO” was lowered onto the street in front of the old town hall with the help of a crane in the evening hours.
This development, for which no official ceremony was held and no statement has yet been made by Mayor Yalım, has attracted the curious gazes of Uşak residents in the area. The nostalgic-looking tram, which was lowered onto the street by crane, attracted great attention both in terms of adding a different touch to the aesthetics of the city and creating a nostalgic atmosphere in Uşak.
It is estimated that İsmetpaşa Street, where the tram lands, could be the starting point of the nostalgic tram line in the later stages of the project. The fact that no official statement has yet been made by the Uşak Municipality on the subject increases curiosity about the details and route of the project.
Mayor Özkan Yalım stated during the election process that he aimed to create an alternative route for urban traffic and a new tourist attraction for Uşak with this project. This first step is considered an important sign that the nostalgic tram dream that Uşak residents have been waiting for a long time will come true. The details of the project are expected to be clarified with official statements from Uşak Municipality in the coming days.
