
Hosted by Trabzon, the Turkish Cup 4th Stage Road Race provided exciting moments for cycling enthusiasts. This important organization, in which 150 licensed athletes from all over Türkiye pedaled, witnessed a fierce competition in Trabzon's unique natural beauties and challenging courses. While the athletes who won the races received their awards at the ceremony, Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç emphasized that the city is taking firm steps towards becoming an important center for cycling.
Championship Fight on the Challenging Tracks of Trabzon
The Turkish Cup 4th Stage Road Race and Stage Trabzon Climb Races, organized in cooperation with the Turkish Bicycle Federation and hosted by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, were completed with a large turnout. In the organization, which attracted great interest from cycling enthusiasts, 150 licensed athletes sweated through the challenging stages. In addition to the races, the fact that 73 bicycles were given to the athletes and young people participating in the event by drawing lots added color to the organization.
Road and Climb Race Winners Announced
In the senior men's category, Tahir Buğra Yiğit came in first place, Mustafa Ayyorkun second and Ahmet Can Akpınar third. In the U17 category, where young talents competed, Mehmet Bekir Çetindaş came in first. Enis Fatih Perçin came in second, while Yunus Emre Kiraz was content with third. In the U19 category, Ege Erülkü came in first, Göktürk Yüzerler second and Muhammet Umut Demircan third.
The excitement was also at its peak in the Stage Trabzon Climbing Race. Ahmet Örken came out on top in the senior men's category, Ahmet Can Akpınar came in second and Emir Uzun came in third. Orçun Karaman came in first in the U19 category, Murat Bayık came in second and Mustafa Demir came in third. In the U17 category, Muhammed Abdurrahman Karaman came in first, Efe Ahmet Sakar came in second and Muhammet Zahit Sanin came in third.
President Genç: “We Will Make Trabzon the Center of Sports in Every Branch”
Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, who attended the start program of the races, stated that such large organizations make significant contributions to Trabzon's vision in sports. Mayor Genç said, “We want to make Trabzon the center of sports in every branch, not just football. Cycling has a special place in line with this goal. The 4th Stage of the Turkish Cup Road Race held here today clearly showed the potential of our city in this field. We will continue our efforts with determination to encourage our youth to sports, to popularize cycling culture and to make Trabzon one of the centers of this sport.” Mayor Genç's statements clearly revealed Trabzon's determination to be ambitious in different branches of sports and the importance it attaches to cycling.
