The Ministry of Family and Social Services will organize the “International Family Forum” in Istanbul on May 2025-22 in order to increase global cooperation to strengthen the family structure within the scope of the 23 Year of Family.
According to the statement made by the ministry, the forum, which will be organized with the slogan of “Our Family is Our Future” with the aim of strengthening family-oriented policies, increasing social solidarity and sharing international good practices, will contribute to the strengthening of international dialogue in the field of “family diplomacy” with the participation of ministers responsible for families from 26 countries.
The forum, where the opening speech will be given by Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, will address critical topics such as global threats facing the family structure, the effects of digitalization on the family, cultural transformations and demographic trends.
The closing session of the forum will be held with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. President Erdoğan's wife Emine Erdoğan will also meet with the participants at the International Family Forum.
As part of the Forum, ministers will address global issues related to the family at the Ministerial Session titled “Mainstreaming Family-Focused Policies: National and International Efforts.”
Additionally, panels titled “Highly Profitable: The Cost of Global Threats to Individuals, Families, and Society,” “Between Fiction and Reality: Family in Culture, Arts, and Media,” “Being a Family in the Age of Screens,” and “The Myth of Overpopulation: How Has the Global Agenda Contributed to Population Decline?” will be held.
The panels will discuss topics such as the cost of global crises affecting the family, the representation of the family institution in culture and media, parenting in the digital age, and the effects of changes in the world's population on the family.
Within the scope of the forum, the interactive exhibition themed “All Happy Families Are Alike”, digital marbling applications, and stands where good practice examples of national and international organizations will be exhibited can also be visited.
The “Entrepreneurs Inspired by Family” fair will also be held within the scope of the forum.
