TEI Celebrated Occupational Health and Safety Week with Events

Source of Power TEI celebrated Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Week, as it does every year, with events organized for TEI employees and students from different levels. The events, which aimed to strengthen the safe work culture and raise awareness in this area, were held between 5-9 May 2025.

OHS Week began with messages from TEI Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Öztürk and TEI General Manager Prof. Dr. Mahmut F. Aksit emphasizing the importance of occupational health and safety practices. The phrase “We are Strong in Occupational Health and Safety, We are Pioneers in National Aviation!” was chosen as TEI’s slogan in this field for one year through a competition held among TEI employees.

Throughout the week; various competitions such as the knowledge contest reminding the OHS rules, the OHS button contest and the Personal Protective Equipment Survivor Course and different events attended by emergency teams were organized. TEI employees competed fiercely in the virtual reality competitions where scenarios including OHS practices were recreated in the activities where virtual reality applications were also used.

In the social facility area, there was a mobile station for blood donations by the Turkish Red Crescent and information areas for certified first aid training. In the area where stands were set up where personal protective equipment products were introduced by relevant companies, TEI employees who participated in the game called Safety Monopoly had a pleasant time while refreshing their OHS knowledge.

During the week where social responsibility activities were also organized, TEI OHS teams visited Reşat Benli Primary School, explained the importance of OHS to students and introduced OHS practices in a virtual environment. Finally, fire extinguishing training was given to students in a fire drill held at Atatürk Vocational and Technical High School.
