The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has completed comprehensive preparations in 4 separate facilities on the European and Anatolian sides so that Istanbulites can slaughter their sacrificial animals in healthy, hygienic and modern conditions ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha. This year, sacrificial animal sales and slaughtering services will be provided at 4 designated locations: Alibeyköy (Eyüpsultan), Ferhatpaşa (Ataşehir), Kurnaköy (Pendik) and Paşaköy (Sancaktepe).
Slaughtering Possibility in Accordance with Hygiene and Religious Practices
In the modern facilities established by IMM, the sacrificial slaughtering operations will be carried out under the meticulous control of expert veterinarians in their fields, in full compliance with religious rules and under the highest level of hygienic conditions. In this way, citizens will be able to perform their sacrificial rituals with peace of mind. The latest technology equipment used in the facilities will allow the slaughtering operations to be completed quickly and regularly.
Comfortable and Well-Equipped Facilities
In these modern facilities, which have a total capacity of 5 head of cattle and 100 head of sheep, the needs of the citizens have been considered in detail. A total of 600 thousand sacrificial bags were prepared to hygienically package the slaughtered meat. In addition, the annual periodic maintenance of all slaughtering equipment has been completed completely. In addition to the mosques, sinks, toilets and rest areas that citizens can easily use, mobile buffets will also provide service within the facilities. In case of possible technical failures, expert technical teams will be on standby during the holiday.
Easy Access and Information with the Qurban Mobile Application
IMM has also mobilized technological opportunities so that citizens can easily reach the sacrificial slaughtering facilities and carry out their transactions without any problems. Citizens who want to have their sacrificial animals slaughtered at IMM facilities will be able to carry out their transactions through the appointment system specially developed to prevent possible congestion. In addition, thanks to the “Sacrifice Mobile” application, which can be downloaded free of charge from IOS and Android markets, the locations of the facilities will be easily reached and the ear tag information of the animals to be slaughtered will be instantly queried from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry database. It will also be possible to access all detailed information about IMM’s sacrificial slaughtering facilities through the application.

IMM officials stated that they aim to provide a safe and orderly service so that citizens can spend Eid al-Adha in peace and security, and invited all Istanbulites to choose IMM's modern sacrificial animal sales and slaughtering facilities.
