Rostec, one of Russia’s leading state-owned companies, continues to add strength to the Russian Aerospace Forces. The company announced in its latest announcement that it has delivered a batch of new Su-35S fighter jets to the Russian Air Force. However, no information was shared regarding the number of aircraft delivered.
Vadim Badekha, Director General of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), made a statement regarding this important delivery. Badekha said, “UAC continues regular deliveries of fighter jet equipment in accordance with the current year’s schedule. Our factories successfully cope with the tasks assigned to them, realizing the vital importance of fulfilling the state defense order completely and within the specified timeframes. At the same time, work continues unabated to increase capacity and put new production infrastructure facilities into operation in order to implement additional plans to further strengthen the country’s defense capabilities. Currently, the production of new Su-35S, Su-34 and Su-57 aircraft groups is also progressing as planned.”
Second Su-35S Delivery of the Year
This latest delivery is the second of the Su-35S fighter jets in 2025. Rostec delivered the first Su-35S of the year to the Russian Aerospace Forces at the end of March. These regular deliveries are considered part of Russia’s strategy to modernize its air force and increase its operational capacity.
Su-35S: A Critical Link in the Transition to the Fifth Generation
The Su-35S fighter jet is seen by Russian aviation experts as an important intermediate step in the transition to fifth-generation aviation systems. The digital control systems used on the aircraft and new-generation engines with thrust vector control capability provide significant improvements in the aircraft's flight performance and maneuverability characteristics. These features make the Su-35S a highly effective platform for modern air combat.
Su-35S fighter jets are multi-purpose platforms capable of operating in all weather conditions, day and night. While its primary mission is to provide air superiority at long ranges, it is also capable of engaging ground and surface targets with high precision. This versatility makes the Su-35S an important element that increases the operational flexibility of the Russian Air Force.
