STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trading Inc., which has achieved significant export success in the defense industry by developing innovative and national solutions, continues to exhibit its national technologies abroad. STM will introduce military naval platforms and tactical mini UAV systems to South Asian countries at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aviation Fair (LIMA), one of the largest defense fairs in the Asia Pacific region. The LIMA Fair will be held on the Malaysian island of Langkawi between May 20-24.
STM, which builds surface and underwater platforms for the Turkish Naval Forces, as well as the Ukrainian, Pakistani, Portuguese and Malaysian Navies, will showcase 6 different naval projects in Malaysia. The Malaysian Corvette (LMS Batch-2), which is Türkiye’s first and only corvette export to the Asia Pacific region, Türkiye’s national frigate project İstif Class (TCG ISTANBUL), the Portuguese Fleet Replenishment Tanker, the STM MPAC Fast Attack Boat and the STM500 Submarine will be exhibited at the fair.
TCG BÜYÜKADA Corvette Will Be in Malaysia
The TCG BÜYÜKADA (F-2) corvette, the 512nd Ship of the MİLGEM Project, in which STM undertook a critical task as the main subcontractor and was delivered to the Turkish Navy, continues its journey to Malaysia to participate in the LİMA Fair.
Developing pioneering systems in Türkiye and the world in tactical mini UAVs, STM will present Türkiye’s first national strike UAV KARGU, which has been exported to more than 10 countries on three different continents, with anti-personnel and armor-piercing ammunition warheads to the fair participants. STM will also introduce the TOGAN, the scout UAV that has entered the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, is actively used in the fight against terrorism and has achieved export success, and the BOYGA, the ammunition-dropping UAV, to Malaysia.
STM's New Ship Design to Be Shown for the First Time
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz stated that there is strong cooperation with Malaysia in the fields of defense and security, and noted the following:
“As STM, we have signed our country’s first corvette export to the Asia Pacific region with the three corvettes we developed based on the Ada Class design for the Royal Malaysian Navy. We started the construction of our corvettes in Istanbul last year and are continuing successfully. In addition to the Turkish Navy, we are targeting new collaborations to continue to be the reliable partner of navies from Portugal to Ukraine, from Malaysia to Pakistan. We are very happy to be present at the Malaysia LIMA Defense Fair in line with our vision of bringing our innovative and flexible defense solutions to the world. We will introduce our design of a military naval platform with a resounding multi-purpose mission for the first time at the LIMA Fair. Together with our expanding network in the global market, we aim to increase strategic cooperation opportunities in Malaysia and neighboring countries.”
