
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that a total of 311,5 kilograms of drugs were seized in simultaneous operations conducted in Şanlıurfa and Van's Tuşba and Edremit districts.
210,5 Kilograms of Drugs Seized in Van
According to Minister Yerlikaya's statement, significant success was achieved in the operations conducted by the Van Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotics and Intelligence Branches under the coordination of the Van Republic Chief Prosecutor's Office and the General Directorate of Security's Anti-Narcotics Crimes Department. In the operations conducted in the Tuşba and Edremit districts against individuals detected to be transporting narcotics;
- 234 kilograms of heroin in 126 packages
- 84,5 kilograms of marijuana
A total of 210,5 kilograms of drugs were seized.
101 Kilograms of Drugs Seized in Şanlıurfa
In the work carried out by the Şanlıurfa Provincial Police Department Anti-Narcotics Branch Directorate under the coordination of the Şanlıurfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a search was carried out in a truck;
- 131 kilograms of heroin in 68,5 packages
- 53 kilograms of skung in 23,5 packages
- 16 kilograms of cannabis powder in 9 packages
A total of 101 kilograms of drugs were seized.
4 Suspects Detained
As a result of the operations, 4 suspected drug dealers were caught. Minister Yerlikaya congratulated the security forces who took part in the operations and emphasized that the fight against drugs will continue with determination. In his statement, he said, “Drugs are the greatest enemy of humanity. We will continue to fight against the drug dealers who dare to do this on behalf of our country and humanity.”
