Transportation Times Will Be Significantly Shortened with the YHT Line
When the Yerköy – Kayseri YHT Project is completed, a 250-kilometer double-track, electrified and signaled mixed (Freight-Passenger) line that can be operated at a speed of 142 km/h will be put into operation. In this way, it is aimed to reduce the current conventional railway transportation time between Yerköy and Kayseri, which takes 3 hours, to less than 1 hour. It is planned to reduce the current railway transportation time between Ankara and Kayseri, which is 7 hours, to 2 hours, and the 5 hours and 15 minutes between Istanbul and Kayseri, to 5 hours and 15 minutes.
With the commissioning of this important YHT line, it is aimed to transport approximately 11 million passengers and 650 thousand tons of freight annually between Ankara, Kırıkkale, Yerköy, Şefaatli, Yenifakılı and Kayseri stations.
The Project Will Have Great Economic and Environmental Contributions
With the completion of the YHT project, it is expected that significant time savings will be achieved in passenger and freight transportation, as well as a reduction in water pollution, air pollution and noise pollution. In addition, a decrease in highway operating costs is targeted, and the project is expected to make significant contributions to the country's economy. With the implementation of the Kayseri-Ankara YHT line, it is expected that significant momentum will be provided to the economic and social development of the region.
