Our aim is to make Hürmetçi, on the skirts of Mount Erciyes, an indispensable destination for our local and foreign guests,” and invited everyone to discover this unique natural wonder and breathe in this hidden paradise of Kayseri.

Natural Wealth is Protected with the Understanding of Sustainable Tourism

President Büyükkılıç stated that the qualified services provided in Hürmetçi Marshes have made the region an attractive center in terms of tourism and said, “By protecting the natural riches of Hürmetçi Marshes with a sustainable tourism approach, we ensure that the ecological balance of the region develops without being disrupted. Our special indoor facilities built for the protection of wild horses even in winter have been designed to ensure that tourism activities in the region continue throughout the year. Hürmetçi Marshes awaits its visitors as a center of attraction for those looking for a trip in touch with nature.”

Wild Horses and Natural Beauties Attract Tourists

Located on the skirts of Mount Erciyes and famous for its wild horses roaming freely, Hürmetçi Marshes is maximizing its natural beauty and tourism potential with the investments of the Metropolitan Municipality. This special region, which attracts the attention of both local and foreign tourists, is now becoming an indispensable address for nature lovers.

“Sensitive Area to be Strictly Protected” Registration

Located on the borders of İncesu and Hacılar districts of Kayseri, Hürmetçi Marshes is a natural wonder that has been registered as a “sensitive area to be strictly protected” by the Presidency. Drawing attention with its ecological richness and tourism potential, this region has become a favorite of nature enthusiasts and photographers with the investments and services provided under the leadership of Mayor Büyükkılıç.

Special Care and Attention to the Wild Horses

This unique geography, where approximately 500 wild horses roam freely on the slopes of Mount Erciyes, is also home to many different bird species and endemic plant species. From early morning until late evening, the feeding, care and interaction of the wild horses in the region with tourists are meticulously managed by the Metropolitan Municipality. While visitors are offered a unique nature experience with the horses, after the photo shoots, the horses are taken to the semi-enclosed modern facility implemented by the Metropolitan Municipality to ensure their safe protection during the cold winter days.

Support for Livestock Breeding with Buffalo Breeding Project

The Metropolitan Municipality produces important projects and services for the development of animal husbandry activities in the region, in addition to Hürmetçi being a touristic center. In this context, the “Buffalo Breeding and Production Transformation Project” was implemented to support buffalo breeders, who are densely located in the Hürmetçi Dokuzpınar region, to improve the buffalo breed and to diversify dairy products. Within the scope of this project, which was carried out in partnership with the Breeding Buffalo Breeders Association, 100 producers were provided with one male buffalo support and the total cost of the project was approximately 7 million TL. In addition, shelter support was provided for the sheltering of wild horses in order to protect the natural life in the Hürmetçi region.

The feed and veterinary services of the Yılkı horses are also provided by the Metropolitan Municipality.

Within the framework of developing tourism and promoting Kayseri in every way, the feed needs of the wild horses, which are the most important element of the Hürmetçi Marshes, are also met by the Metropolitan Municipality. 50 tons of alfalfa were offered as feed to the wild horses through the Environmental Protection and Control Department. In addition, regular veterinary services for the health of the horses are also provided by the Metropolitan Municipality. With these devoted efforts, the Metropolitan Municipality continues to diversify and increase its contribution to Kayseri in every field.
