Golden Horn Boat Tours Started with Count Ostrorog

Rahmi M. Koç Museum is home to one of the most special experiences on the Golden Horn. Boat tours that offer the opportunity to view Istanbul's coastline from the sea are a nostalgic window opening onto the city's transportation and industrial history from the water.

Rahmi M. Koç Museum's traditional boat tours, which start from the Golden Horn, offer a short break from the city's tempo. These trips, which are carried out with the historical boat Kont Ostrorog, provide the opportunity to follow Istanbul's industrial, transportation and architectural history from the sea.

The short tour route, which progresses through the unique geography of the Golden Horn, reveals the multi-layered history of Istanbul, from industrial structures to religious architecture, from the water. Along the route, which covers Hasköy, Sütlüce, Eyüpsultan, Ayvansaray, Balat, Fener, Kasımpaşa, you can see the Greek Boys High School, Atatürk Bridge, Sveti Stefan Church, known as the Bulgarian Church, Cibali Tobacco Factory, now Kadir Has University, and the Haliç Congress Center, which used to be the Karaağaç/Sütlüce Slaughterhouse.

This special experience, which allows one to read the city's memory from the sea, stands out as a part of the holistic historical narrative that Rahmi M. Koç Museum offers to its visitors.

Tours are held on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 14:00 and 16:00, when weather conditions are suitable, and on Saturdays and Sundays at 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00.
