The protected inverted tulips, known as the 'symbol of sadness' and blooming with the warming of the weather in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari, are protected with inspections carried out by Gendarmerie teams 7 days a week.
Those who came to see the inverted tulips stated that everyone should take care of the inverted tulips, which bloom once a year and have a lifespan of one month.
Inverted tulips, which are also seen densely in Hakkari, Van and Şırnak and also called 'weeping bride' in the region, have started to bloom with the warming of the weather.
Gendarmerie teams are conducting inspections to ensure that the upside-down tulips that bloom in the Yürekli village of the Yüksekova district and have a one-month lifespan are not picked. The teams are warning those who come to the area not to pick the tulips. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, imposes an administrative fine of 557 TL for each tulip that is picked.
