Hulya Kocyigit: “Unfortunately, I learned with great sadness the passing of Sırrı Süreyya Önder… He was an artist and a politician who always defended the language of peace for peace, unity, togetherness in Türkiye, and for a terror-free Turkey. He was a true man of culture who touched everyone’s heart with his kindness and intelligence. Goodbye Sırrı Süreyya Önder. You will continue to live in our hearts with the efforts you made for peace. I wish God’s mercy upon him and patience for all his loved ones, especially his family.”
Yavuz Bingöl: “A three-cent world. Sırrı lived knowing this. Forget about people killing each other, he would never break anyone’s heart or upset them. When he spoke, he would speak from the middle of a book. He had gathered all the beauties and goodness for himself. He had dedicated his life to peace. If it were up to Sırrı, he would want to collect all the tears from eyelashes, burn all the weapons in one square, and turn all the pain into love… He was a beautiful man, a good man, a good friend, very loyal to his promises. In short, he was a human being. I am so sorry. I will miss him so much. May he rest in peace. May God bless him… My dear friend. Who will call me in the middle of the night, who will I sing folk songs to?”

The last time you called me was when my mother passed away… You insistently said, “Don’t be sad, my brother… We will all leave one day, Mahsunum.” But unfortunately, Sırrı, my brother… You left too early.
