Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality has organized an important event for young students in order to raise conscious drivers and pedestrians of the future. A special awareness event was organized for the little ones receiving education at the Metropolitan Municipality Es Children's House on the occasion of Traffic and First Aid Week. This meaningful event aimed to raise awareness of children about traffic safety at an early age and thus contribute to the creation of a safer traffic environment in the future.
Fun and Educational Lessons from Experts
Traffic safety training held at Es Children's House was attended by expert traffic police officers from the Traffic Education Center. Experienced police officers provided interactive training to young students on the basic rules to be followed in traffic and how pedestrians and drivers should behave correctly in situations they encounter. Various songs and games were used in the training to attract children's attention and make learning fun.
Traffic Rules Learned with Songs and Games
Expert police officers explained to the little students in an understandable language what they should pay attention to while walking on the street as pedestrians and the traffic rules they should follow when they become drivers in the future. Basic topics such as the correct use of pedestrian crossings, the meaning of traffic lights, and the principles of safe travel in vehicles were explained with examples appropriate to the level of the children. The police emphasized the critical role of both pedestrians and drivers fully complying with traffic rules and being respectful to each other in preventing possible accidents. The vital importance of being careful and following the rules was instilled in the minds of the little ones with fun activities.
“Traffic Detective” IDs Distributed to Little Ones
At the end of the training, “Traffic Detective” identity cards were distributed to the little students in order to encourage them to actively apply the information they learned in their daily lives. These symbolic identities will allow the children to observe whether the traffic rules around them are being followed and to gently warn their elders when necessary. In this way, the little students will not only be informed, but will also become individuals who take an active role in traffic safety. This meaningful training is aimed to permanently increase children’s traffic awareness and to create awareness at a young age for a safer society. The importance that Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality attaches to such early age education is considered a promising step in terms of future traffic safety.
