
Erzurum Provincial Gendarmerie Command continues its determination to combat violence against women. In this context, information activities were carried out in Aziziye, Aşkale and Şenkaya districts between 02-09 May 2025 under the coordination of Public Security Branch Directorate. In these events, which were organized with the participation of a total of 675 citizens, the purpose and use of the Women Support Application (KADES), which allows women to receive help quickly when they encounter violence, were explained in detail. In addition, comprehensive information was provided about the “No Hand Can Raise a Hand to Women” project, which aims to prevent violence against women.
KADES Application and Usage Explained
The focal point of the information activities was the KADES application, which can be easily accessed via smartphones. Gendarmerie teams provided practical explanations to citizens on how to download the application, how to register, and how to use it in emergencies to instantly transmit location information to authorities. It was emphasized that KADES plays a vital role in ensuring that women victims of violence reach security forces as soon as possible.
Awareness Raising on the “No Hands on Women” Project
The “No Hands on Women” project, which adopts the principle of zero tolerance against all forms of violence against women, was also introduced during the information events. The aim of the project was stated as contributing to the prevention of violence by increasing social awareness and explaining support mechanisms for victims of violence. Gendarmerie teams shared the basic messages of the project and the importance of standing against violence with citizens.
Emphasis on Continuous Information from the Gendarmerie
In a statement made by the Erzurum Provincial Gendarmerie Command on the subject, it was stated that “As the Erzurum Provincial Gendarmerie Command; activities aimed at raising awareness in all segments of society will continue uninterruptedly.” This statement clearly demonstrates the determination of the gendarmerie to combat violence against women and the importance it attaches to awareness-raising activities. Such information activities by the Erzurum Gendarmerie make significant contributions to raising awareness in society about violence and to victims’ access to support mechanisms.
