The Barrier-Free Life Festival and Barrier-Free Life Panel, which will be organized under the leadership of the Trabzon City Council Disability Assembly, will bring together all segments of society and raise hopes for a barrier-free future.
Barrier-Free Life Festival: Sports, Art and Entertainment Together
The enthusiastic start of the Disability Week events will be the Barrier-Free Life Festival, which will take place at 12:2025 a.m. on Monday, May 10.00, 10 at the Avni Aker National Garden. Trabzon City Council Disabled Assembly President Savaş Yol emphasized that the aim of this festival, which will be held for the first time, is to bring together all the people of Trabzon. Yol gave important clues about the content of the festival by saying, “We are organizing various events within the scope of the Disabled Week on May 16-12 in order to raise awareness in society, touch the lives of disabled individuals and emphasize that an equal and accessible life is possible. We will be holding the ‘Barrier-Free Life Festival’ at 2025:10.00 a.m. on Monday, May XNUMX, XNUMX at the Avni Aker National Garden. We aim to create an environment where all individuals can have fun and share in this festival full of sports, art and music.”
The festival program will be full of rich and colorful activities. Participants will increase their awareness in empathy courses where they will have the opportunity to experience the difficulties experienced by disabled individuals. Stage shows will provide platforms where disabled artists will showcase their talents, while rhythmic dance shows will bring excitement and energy to Avni Aker National Garden. The kite flying event that will color the sky will add a separate joy to the festival. Barrier-Free Living Panel: Experts to Discuss an Inclusive Future
Within the scope of Disability Week events, not only entertainment but also awareness-raising and solution-oriented discussions will take place. In this context, Hamamizade İhsan Bey Cultural Center will host the 'Barrier-Free Life Panel' on Wednesday, May 15, 2025. Trabzon City Council Disabled Assembly President Savaş Yol explained the purpose of the panel with the following words: “We will hold a meeting with expert participants where ideas and suggestions for solving the social, physical and cultural obstacles faced by disabled individuals will be discussed. Our panel is open to all segments of society, and together we will discuss ways to build a more inclusive future.”
The Barrier-Free Life Panel will address in detail the problems that disabled individuals face in accessing their basic rights such as education, health, employment, transportation and social participation.
