The “Clean Eskişehir” campaign launched by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality is bearing fruit with the cleaning inspections carried out continuously throughout the city. Within the scope of this comprehensive campaign, which is also supported by Odunpazarı and Tepebaşı Municipalities, deterrent penalties are being applied to those who recklessly use and pollute the environment. It was announced that during the inspections carried out in Kanlıkavak Park, Metropolitan Municipality Police Teams have imposed administrative fines totaling 734 million 2 thousand 167 TL on 502 people who polluted the environment since February.
Technology-Supported Effective Controls
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality effectively utilizes the opportunities of technology in its “Clean Eskişehir” campaign, which it has implemented with the vision of a clean, healthy and livable city. Police teams perform aerial surveillance with drone support during inspections, ensuring simultaneous control over large areas. In addition, thanks to modern equipment that can record audio and video, the detection process is meticulously documented and possible objections are prevented. This technological infrastructure significantly increases the effectiveness and deterrent effect of inspections.
Strict Pursuit in Kanlıkavak Park
Finally, inspections carried out in Kanlıkavak Park, one of the city's popular recreational areas, revealed how determinedly the campaign was carried out. Metropolitan Municipality Police Teams immediately intervened and imposed administrative fines of 2 TL per person on citizens who were spitting on the ground in the park and throwing waste such as cigarette butts, garbage, and sunflower seed shells into the environment. This determined attitude clearly shows the importance given to the cleanliness of common living areas.
Heavy Bills for 734 Pollutants
As a result of intensive inspections carried out throughout the city since February, a total of 734 million 2 thousand 167 TL worth of administrative fines were imposed on 502 people who were found to be polluting the environment. This figure clearly demonstrates the Metropolitan Municipality’s sensitivity to environmental cleanliness and its uncompromising attitude towards those who do not comply with the rules. It is expected that these fines will increase citizens’ environmental awareness and make them act more responsibly towards common living spaces.
Warning and Call from the Police
The police authorities emphasized that the inspections will continue to increase throughout the city and made an important call to all the people of Eskişehir. The statement said, “During the inspections we carried out in Kanlıkavak Park today, we applied the necessary penalties to the citizens who polluted the environment. We invite all our fellow citizens to be much more sensitive in order to keep this beautiful city we live in and our common living spaces clean. Let's not forget that a clean environment is the responsibility of all of us.” This determined message shows that the Metropolitan Municipality will never give up on its goal of a clean Eskişehir and will continue to take all kinds of measures for this purpose.
