Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality is launching a meaningful tour program that allows children, the architects of the future, to get to know their cultural and historical heritage up close. This special program, implemented by the Social Services Department Children's Branch Directorate in cooperation with district municipalities, takes children between the ages of 9-14 on an unforgettable journey into the ancient history of the city. The aim is to encourage children to learn by experiencing the rich historical and cultural sites of Diyarbakır on site, thus increasing their cultural awareness.
Within the scope of this enjoyable event, children are transported safely to historical and cultural sites to be visited with comfortable buses belonging to Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and under the guidance of experienced instructors. During the trip, special bags containing various materials that will meet the basic needs of the children are given as gifts, and their comfort is also taken into consideration. The little explorers who discover a different cultural richness of Diyarbakır every week, this week's stop was the Hilar Caves located in the mystical atmosphere of the Ergani district.
A total of 65 children from Silvan and Kocaköy districts stepped into the fascinating world of Hilar Caves accompanied by expert guides. The guides provided the children with detailed and interesting information about the thousands of years of history of the caves and the unique archaeological importance of the region. While the children watched the natural formations of the caves with admiration, they also curiously examined the remains that bear the traces of past civilizations. This interactive learning environment allowed the children to both have fun and gain permanent knowledge.
One of the best parts of the trip was the enjoyable and educational moments the children spent with their friends. The children, who interacted with each other while exploring historical sites, had the opportunity to learn new information and develop their social skills. At the end of the Hilar Caves trip, souvenir photos were taken to immortalize this meaningful day. At the end of the program, a fun picnic surrounded by nature was organized for the children. This picnic helped them relieve the tiredness of the trip and allowed them to collect beautiful memories by playing games with their friends. Such cultural tour programs of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality contribute to children learning the history and culture of their own cities and provide them with unforgettable experiences, thus providing significant support for their social development.
