Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, as a result of the evaluation made by the Turkish Environmental Education Foundation (TÜRÇEV) “Blue Flag 2024 Best Environmental Education and Awareness Activities Award” Deputy Secretary General Mehmet Emin Direkçi received the award from Bursa Metropolitan Municipality at the ceremony held in Antalya.
Emphasis on Sustainable Tourism and Environmental Awareness
At the 2025 Blue Flag Award Ceremony organized by TÜRÇEV under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, many beaches, marinas, tourism boats and individual yachts that met various criteria were awarded. These criteria include important titles such as swimming water quality, environmental management, life safety and environmental education. A total of 577 beaches, 29 marinas, 18 tourism boats and 8 individual yachts that contribute to sustainable tourism with environmental awareness were presented with Blue Flag awards.
The fact that Bursa Metropolitan Municipality was deemed worthy of this special award was an indication of its successful work in the field of environmental education and awareness.

Deputy Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Emin Direkçi stated in his statement that they attach great importance to environmentally sensitive works in line with the vision of Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey.
