Allegations that one of Türkiye's leading businessmen, İnan Kıraç, was "kidnapped" from a private hospital in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul hit the headlines like a bombshell. However, the official statement made by the hospital revealed that these allegations were unfounded.
Initial Allegations and Hospital Statement
CNN Türk initially claimed that İnan Kıraç may have been kidnapped by his former driver. CNN Türk Istanbul News Director Nihat Uludağ stated that this information was not definitive and that teams were searching for İnan Kıraç.
However, the details of the incident became clear in a statement made by the private hospital where the examinations of businessman İnan Kıraç were carried out. Hospital officials stated the following:
“Mr. İnan Kıraç was admitted to our hospital upon the request of his guardians on 21.05.2025 and taken for a general check-up. After all examination and examination procedures were completed on 22.05.2025, Mr. Kıraç left the hospital without the permission of his guardians, accompanied by his assistant and driver, while his guardians were present at the hospital, before his discharge procedures were completed. The allegations that Mr. Kıraç was abducted from the hospital by unidentified persons are unfounded and we would like to inform the public about the situation.”
With this statement, it became clear that İnan Kıraç left the hospital of his own volition and with his companions, but this process was carried out without the approval of his guardians. Contrary to the "kidnapping" claims, it was stated that the situation was an "unauthorized departure."
