Unmanned systems developed in line with the “Digital Unity” concept launched by HAVELSAN in 2020 have begun to serve both domestically and abroad. While the first product of this concept, the unmanned ground vehicle BARKAN, entered the inventory in 2023, BAHA continued this success as the air representative of the same journey.
Speaking at the Ministry of National Defense Weekly Press Briefing, Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk emphasized the increasing capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces through domestic defense industry products and stated the following:
“The capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces are increasing day by day with our domestic defense industry products that aim to increase our national and international power and influence. In this context, the inspection and acceptance procedures for the Bulutaltı Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (BAHA) procured by the Land Forces Command have been completed and the systems have been added to our inventory.”
Having achieved export success in 2023 and 2024, BAHA also meets an important need of security forces in Türkiye. Also playing an active role in disaster and earthquake drills coordinated by AFAD, BAHA continues to prove its versatility in the field.
BAHA stands out with its features such as vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capability, ability to operate without a runway, day/night reconnaissance and surveillance capability, ability to operate in signal jamming environments and autonomous mission return. Thanks to its modular structure, the system can be equipped with different sensors and is also suitable for joint operations with other unmanned systems.
Able to stay in the air for up to 2 hours thanks to its electric motors, operating at altitudes of up to 10.000 feet and reaching a range of 50 km, BAHA can be carried by a crew of 2 and made ready for duty in a short time.
Having been tested and matured in harsh climatic and geographical conditions, BAHA can be used effectively in many tasks such as monitoring, surveillance, reconnaissance, post-disaster assessment, coastal security, and inspection of power lines.
Contributing to the modernization vision of the Turkish Armed Forces, BAHA took its place as one of the strong representatives of HAVELSAN engineering in the field.
