The 6 Amputee Football Champions League, organized for the 2025th time this year by the European Amputee Football Federation (EAFF), has started in the capital Ankara. The tournament is hosted by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

8 COUNTRIES WILL FIGHT

Alves Kablo Ampute Football Club (Turkey), 1. FSV Mainz 05 (Germany), AFC Tbilisi (Georgia), FC Annecy (England), Shamrock Rovers (Ireland), Real Betis (Spain), Sporting Amp Football (Italy) and Wisla Krakow (Poland) will compete to be the best in Europe at the end of the competitions to be played at the ABB Eryaman Sports Village for 3 days.

Making the opening speech of the tournament, ABB Assembly Deputy Chairman Ertan Işık thanked ABB Chairman Mansur Yavaş and Alves Kablo Amputee Football Club Chairman Hikmet Alabacak for their great efforts in organizing the championship in Ankara and ran as follows:

“This tournament is not just a football organization, but also a great example of solidarity where belief, struggle and determination are reflected on the field. Since taking office, our President has taken important steps to ensure that disadvantaged groups, in particular, have access to sports by saying ‘people first’. The facilities we use here today are a product of that understanding. Dear athletes, you remind us this in every match: ‘The real obstacle is not in the body, but in the lack of faith.’ We are proud of you. I hope the tournament will be friendly and gentlemanly, and I wish success to all our teams.”

The tournament started with matches between Alves Kablo Ampute Football Club and Spanish representative Real Betis and the last champion Wisla Krakow and Sporting Amp Football.

FIELDS BUILT BY ABB BRING GOOD LUCK

We know that the fields built by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality bring us good luck. When we said that there will be a Champions League now, our Mayor said that we should host it. Again, a perfect job was done, there is a perfect facility. We would like to thank our Mayor who never took his hands off us. Here, we showed the whole of Europe how to provide flawless service and organization. I am calling out to all of Ankara from here, if God allows, our club representing Ankara, the capital, will advance to the finals. We are opening the tournament today. We are expecting all of Ankara to the match at Aktepe Stadium in the final.”
