Muğla Metropolitan Municipality organized a meaningful workshop event specifically for the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day week within the scope of the "I am the Master of My Life" project. The event, which was held with the participation of children between the ages of 7 and 10 and their families, allowed the little ones to both have fun and contribute to nature.
Warm Nests for Birds from Tiny Hands
During the workshops, children designed nests for cute birds using wooden materials. Children who built birdhouses with their families using their manual skills later used their imaginations to decorate these nests with colorful paints. Thanks to this enjoyable activity, children had the opportunity to show off their creativity and also gained a sense of responsibility towards living things in nature.
“Materials from Us, Imagination from You”
In his statement about the project, Kıvanç Akgün, Head of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Women and Family Services Department, emphasized that the “I am the Master of My Life” project was prepared especially for children. Akgün said, “With the birdhouse workshop, we both have a pleasant time with children and build nests for new lives. On this path that we set out with the slogan ‘Materials are from us, imagination is from you’, we aim for children to learn while having fun. In these activities, children learn to work in cooperation and make joint production. We will continue our awareness studies within the scope of our project.” This meaningful event contributed to the children experiencing the excitement of April 23 and also to their growing up as environmentally sensitive individuals.
