Hatay Police Department teams have carried out an important operation within the scope of combating migrant smuggling. In a search conducted in a vehicle stopped on suspicion at the enforcement point in Defne district, 20 irregular migrants who were determined to have entered Türkiye illegally were caught.
Suspicious Vehicle Tracked at Application Point
Hatay Police Department teams continue their work to prevent migrant smuggling activities. In this context, teams intensified their inspections at the enforcement point established in Defne district and stopped a vehicle with the license plate 01, which they found suspicious.
20 Irregular Immigrants Detected in Vehicle
In a detailed search of the stopped vehicle, 20 irregular immigrants who were determined to have entered the country illegally were detected. In the checks carried out on the individuals in the vehicle, it was understood that they did not have any identification cards and did not have a valid residence permit in Türkiye.
Driver Detained and Arrested
The driver of the vehicle was immediately detained by the MMM security forces in relation to the incident. After the completion of the procedures at the police station, the suspect was referred to the judicial authorities and was arrested by the court and sent to prison. This arrest is considered an indication of the determined fight against those involved in migrant smuggling.
Irregular Immigrants Handed Over to Provincial Immigration Administration
The 20 irregular migrants who were caught were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management after completing their procedures at the police station. It was reported that after the identification and other necessary procedures were carried out, procedures appropriate to the migrants' situations would be carried out.
This successful operation by the Hatay Police Department has once again demonstrated its effectiveness in combating migrant smuggling in the region.
