İZDENİZ, an important maritime organization of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, is undertaking an innovative project to increase efficiency in maritime transportation. “Development of Voyage Planning Decision Support System for Maritime Transportation” The project named by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) “Technology and Innovation Support Program” It was deemed worthy of support within the scope. Thanks to this support, a special software will be developed that will optimize the voyage planning of the ships within İZDENİZ and create an efficient working system in accordance with this planning.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is also carrying its vision of using technology effectively in all service areas of the city to maritime transportation. This strategic project of IZDENIZ aims to integrate the understanding of “work more efficiently, not harder”, one of the basic principles of today’s business world, into maritime transportation. With the Voyage Planning project to be developed, a special software solution will be produced for the most appropriate planning of the voyages of the ships used in transportation within Izmir Bay and the most efficient use of the workforce in parallel with this planning.
Efficiency and Productivity Will Reach the Highest Level
The basis of this smart software to be developed will be detailed and measurement-based data. In this context, current voyage plans, personnel working hours, performance management data and timing information will be meticulously analyzed and integrated into the system. The main focus of the software will be to maximize the efficiency and productivity of both the workforce and the ships. The project aims to optimize and organize the working hours of personnel and ships within İZDENİZ using scientific methods, thus significantly increasing operational efficiency. This important project, which will be implemented with the financial support of TÜBİTAK, will be developed by Optipro Yazılım AŞ. This collaboration will bring together expertise and experience in the software development process.
This innovative initiative by İZDENİZ will make significant contributions to making maritime transportation in the Gulf of İzmir more sustainable, economical and efficient. Thanks to the decision support system to be developed, fuel savings are expected to be achieved by planning trips more intelligently, personnel resources will be used more effectively and overall operational costs will be reduced. This project stands out as a concrete example of the importance that İzmir Metropolitan Municipality attaches to environmentally friendly and technology-focused transportation solutions.
