Trabzon Climbs to the Top in Quality of Life: 8th in Türkiye

According to TÜİK's 2025 data, Trabzon has consolidated its place among the cities with the highest quality of life in Türkiye, rising 2 places compared to the previous year. 8rd place settled. This success is considered as a result of the city's natural beauty, clean environment and developed urban infrastructure. Eskişehir ranked first in the list, with Antalya, Ankara and Istanbul also in the top ten.

Mayor Genç: “We Will Carry Trabzon Even Further”

Evaluating this important success of Trabzon, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç expressed his satisfaction with the rise of the city. Mayor Genç said, “I am very proud and pleased that Trabzon is shown as the 8th city with the highest quality of life in Türkiye. Our city, which we describe as the pearl of the Black Sea, has always been at the forefront with its natural beauties, historical and cultural heritage. We have been working with great effort since the day we took office to crown this unique heritage with a more livable, more modern and sustainable city vision. In particular, our infrastructure projects, environmentalist approaches and citizen-oriented municipality approach have been the most important elements that directly increase the quality of life of our fellow citizens.”

Infrastructure and Environmental Investments Are Paying Off

In this increase in Trabzon's quality of life, the infrastructure investments made in recent years, the transportation projects implemented and the cultural activities that have been enriched have played an important role. Thanks to this, the city continues to successfully meet the various expectations of its population. Mayor Genç emphasized that the investments made in the field of transportation, new roads, intersection arrangements and public transportation systems have made the daily lives of citizens easier. He also stated that the importance given to urban aesthetics has brought Trabzon to a position that is shown as an example in the field of urbanism. He added that intense efforts are being made to include all Trabzon residents in a more active life with cultural events, art and sports activities and that these efforts will continue.

Mayor Genç thanked all his colleagues who contributed to this success, public and private sector stakeholders who contributed to the cooperation between institutions, and most importantly, the people of Trabzon. He stated, “We will continue to work day and night to carry this beautiful city even further. Trabzon will continue to be the shining star of not only the Black Sea region but also of all of Türkiye,” and he also revealed his vision for the future. This steady increase in Trabzon’s quality of life paints a promising picture for the city’s future.
