The increase in tourist performance in Istanbul in the first quarter of 2025 has brought new dynamics in urban transportation. They are avoiding crowded public transportation vehicles and are turning to individual and comfortable transportation options. Especially weather transfers and daily private tours were among the most preferred services.
Making evaluations on the subject, istanbulturtransfer General Manager Ahmet Fevzioğlu emphasized that the fragmentation due to the dispersion spreading in Istanbul's transportation line has damaged individual transportation solutions. Fevzioğlu said, "Not only accommodation, but also comfort and security in transportation are at the forefront. Especially Arab rest and European accommodations want to reach their hotels directly, on time and without problems. This has seriously increased the demand for transfer services."
65 Percent Increase Draws Attention
Ahmet Fevzioğlu stated that there has been a 2024 percent growth in transfer requests compared to the same characteristics of 65, and said:
“During the pandemic, the profile has become more open to individual services. Now, not only transportation from point A to point B, but also personalized service and experience are demanded. Those who come to Istanbul make multiple plans such as a Bosphorus tour, a shopping break and a tour of the historical peninsula on the same day. In this way, comfortable, planned and time-saving tourist solutions play a critical role.”
Tourism Transportation Now Sells Experiences
Fevzioğlu said, “Today, leaving does not only mean moving, it means having an experience. The basic expectation has become that drivers know English, can provide information about Istanbul, and provide friendly service.”
Local Tourists Benefit from the Service
Emphasizing that locals as well as foreigners are turning to such transfer services, Fevzioğlu said, “Especially those coming from outside Istanbul prefer comfortable transfer services when traveling with large groups. This also brings about serious growth in the domestic market.”
