Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues to transform the city into a more livable, aesthetic and functional city with the comprehensive landscaping works it has initiated throughout the city. The projects implemented in line with this vision increase green areas all around the city while also enriching social living spaces. Finally, the landscaping works initiated around Ahmet Yesevi Mosque in Derince district are preparing to add a modern touch to the region. As of the point reached in the project, 75 percent of the works have been completed.

Comprehensive Arrangement in an Area of 2.450 Square Meters
The “Derince Yesevi Mosque Square Arrangement Project”, meticulously carried out by the Parks and Gardens Department Construction Branch Directorate, covers a total area of 2.450 square meters. Various functional areas are being created within the project, considering the needs of the residents of the region and especially the children. In this context, a 240-square-meter modern and safe children's playground, a 400-square-meter parking area that will provide a solution to the parking problem in the region, 850 square meters of pleasant walking paths for those who want to walk and get fresh air, and a 960-square-meter lush green area that will give the region a breath of fresh air were planned.
Infrastructure is being strengthened, aesthetics are being prioritized
The project is not limited to superstructure arrangements, but also includes important works that will strengthen the infrastructure of the region. In this direction, a 165-meter rainwater line was laid and the ISU main line connection was successfully completed. In this way, it is aimed to prevent water accumulations that may occur in the region, especially during heavy rainfall periods. In addition, modern irrigation lines will be laid in the 960-square-meter green area created, and the healthy development of the vegetation in the area will be guaranteed. With the start of afforestation and grassing works, the region will gain an aesthetic appearance with its natural landscape.
A Safe and Bright Environment
An important part of the project is security and lighting works. In order for the area to have a safe and aesthetic atmosphere in the evening hours, 10 modern lighting poles are being installed. In this way, the mosque area will become a useful and inviting place at all hours of the day. Within the scope of the works, a 50-meter-long stone wall that will determine the boundaries of the mosque square and provide an aesthetic appearance, 126 meters of clinker coping to complete these walls and 126 meters of wrought iron railings that offer both security and aesthetics are also being manufactured. In addition, the general comfort of use of the area will be increased by repairing damaged curbs and renewing existing sidewalks. With the completion of the project, thanks to the modern urban furniture to be placed in the area, citizens will be able to rest, socialize and spend peaceful time in touch with nature in this renewed area.
Final Stage of the Project: 75 Percent Completion Rate
The “Ahmet Yesevi Mosque Surroundings Arrangement” project is progressing rapidly in line with the planned schedule and has currently reached a 75% completion level. The work, which is being carried out with great care and dedication, is aimed to be completed in a short time. When the project is completed, the Derince Ahmet Yesevi Mosque surroundings will have a modern and aesthetic appearance in terms of visual appearance and will offer a modern and safe living space where the residents of the region can breathe with its functional features.
