Within the scope of its work to spread local seeds and increase production throughout Türkiye, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality brought local seeds together with citizens by participating in seed exchange festivals organized by different municipalities.
Local Seed Center Stand Attracted Great Attention
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens Department opened a stand at the Atalık Seed Exchange Festival organized by Yalova Municipality and the 2nd Local Seed Exchange Festival hosted by Çatalca Municipality. The stand of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Local Seed Center was met with great interest from citizens interested in local seeds at the festivals.
Contribution to Biodiversity Conservation
Municipalities and local seed associations from various regions of Türkiye shared seeds specific to their regions at the festivals, contributing to the important goal of protecting biodiversity. Free seeds were distributed to participants during the festivals, and informative workshops such as seed ball making and germination were also organized.

The stand set up by the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Local Seed Center at the festival, which attracted great attention, was also visited by Yalova Mayor Mehmet Gürel and Çatalca Mayor Erhan Güzel.
