
Konya Metropolitan Municipality has signed an important cooperation agreement in order to maximize its preparations against possible disasters and emergencies. In this context, a comprehensive training cooperation protocol was implemented with the Turkish Armed Forces Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Defense and Security Brigade Command.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay and CBRN Defense and Security Brigade Commander Infantry Colonel Yusuf Uysal attended the signing ceremony held at Konya Metropolitan Municipality Taş Bina. Mayor Altay and Colonel Uysal jointly signed the protocol formalizing the cooperation between the two institutions.
Making statements regarding the signed protocol, Mayor Altay emphasized the importance of this cooperation and stated that a coordinated working environment was created in joint exercises, training programs and fire response. Mayor Altay also stated that the CBRN subjects in the successful trainings carried out by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department at national and international levels will be further strengthened with the expertise of the CBRN Defense and Security Brigade Command thanks to this new partnership.
Reminding that Konya Metropolitan Fire Department sets an example in the international arena with the qualified training it provides to firefighters in different countries, Mayor Altay expressed that the cooperation with the CBRN Defense and Security Brigade Command is of great value in this context. Mayor Altay thanked the CBRN Defense and Security Brigade Commander, Infantry Colonel Yusuf Uysal, and everyone who contributed to the implementation of this important cooperation.
CBRN Defense and Security Brigade Commander Infantry Colonel Yusuf Uysal also wished the signed protocol to be beneficial and thanked Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay for this meaningful cooperation. This cooperation once again demonstrates Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s determination in disaster and emergency management and its understanding of working in coordination with relevant institutions. The aim is to be more effective and prepared against possible CBRN threats through joint training and exercises.
