Stadler has announced that it will deliver 14 new FLIRT electric trains to the Polish operator Koleje Mazowieckie. These new trains will strengthen the Koleje Mazowieckie network and offer increased comfort to passengers. The operator currently operates 71 FLIRT trains and is recording significant growth in rail transport in Poland with new contracts.
Expansion of Koleje Mazowieckie's FLIRT Train Fleet
Koleje Mazowieckie received the first 2006 FLIRT units in a contract in 10 and added 2018 more trains in a deal concluded in 61. A new framework agreement for 2024 additional trains was signed in summer 50. These new trains will strengthen regional connections to meet transport demand in Poland. Deliveries of the new FLIRT trains are ongoing at the production site in Siedlce and a further 24 modern units will be delivered within 25 months.
Features of New Trains
The new FLIRT trains stand out with their lightweight aluminum body and advanced comfort systems. Features such as air conditioning, CCTV, and passenger information systems aim to increase passenger comfort. Each train can carry 600 passengers and has 279 seats. The trains offer fast and efficient passenger transportation with a maximum speed of 160 km/h. In addition, the trains equipped with the ETCS Level 2 system provide safety and precise motion control.
Regional Connections and Increased Capacity
The new trains will connect Warsaw with Siedlce, Łowicz, Skierniewice, Radom and Działdowo. This will allow Koleje Mazowieckie to improve its regional connections. The new trains meet the TSI requirements and EN 15227 safety crash norms, so safety standards are kept at the highest level.
Stadler actively contributes to the growth of Poland’s railway infrastructure and reinforces Koleje Mazowieckie’s confidence in the new trains. The new trains are planned to have increased capacity and more frequent services, which means faster and more efficient transport for passengers.
Local Production and Economic Contributions
Production in Siedlce will speed up order fulfillment and create local jobs. Localized assembly, which is of great importance for the Polish economy, will strengthen production processes. The cooperation between Stadler and Koleje Mazowieckie will open the door to future deliveries and contribute to the local workforce.
Technical Specifications of FLIRT Electric Trains
The new FLIRT trains are designed to perform perfectly on routes with heavy passenger traffic. The ETCS Level 2 system ensures precise movement control and reduces risks. These trains will help to improve the quality of service at Koleje Mazowieckie and shorten travel times because they perfectly combine speed and reliability.
Sustainability and Efficiency
Stadler aims to increase the efficiency of rail transport in Poland through the use of environmentally friendly transport solutions and modern technology. The new FLIRT trains are designed to ensure efficiency and sustainability and will be used in line with Koleje Mazowieckie’s environmentally friendly transport goals.
Future Deliveries and Collaboration
The cooperation between Stadler and Koleje Mazowieckie creates a strong foundation for future deliveries and projects. The Polish operator will increase the quality of its service with a modern train fleet, while passengers will enjoy safe, fast and comfortable transportation.
