Special Train Services to South India During Summer

To meet the increasing summer travel demand to major destinations in South India, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced that it will operate 13 weekly special train services with effect from April 42. These special services aim to reduce peak season crowds by providing passengers with additional travel options on popular routes.

Additional Trips on Important Routes

The special train services planned by ECoR focus on key destinations in South India:

  • Visakhapatnam – SMVT Bengaluru (08581/08582): Train number 08581 from Visakhapatnam to SMVT Bengaluru (a major railway terminal in Bengaluru) will operate weekly from April 13 to May 23. The return train number 08582 will operate from Bengaluru from April 14 to May 26, offering regular commuting to passengers.
  • Visakhapatnam – Tirupati (08547/08548): Train number 08547 to Tirupati, known for its religious importance, will operate between April 16 and May 28. On the return route, train number 08548 will operate between April 17 and May 29 to meet the needs of those travelling on this important route.
  • Visakhapatnam – Kurnool City (08545/08546): In order to enhance regional connectivity, a new special train line, number 08545, will be launched from Visakhapatnam to Kurnool City (a city in Andhra Pradesh). This train will operate from April 15 to May 27. The return train, number 08546, will operate from April 16 to May 28.

Wagon Composition and Reservation Call

All special trains to be operated by ECoR will have 2AC (Second Class Air Conditioning), 3AC (Third Class Air Conditioning), Sleeper Class and General Second Class carriages. This variety will offer suitable options for passengers with different budgets and comfort expectations.

With travel demand expected to increase, East Coast Railway is urging passengers to book their tickets in advance. These additional services are seen as an important part of improving travel convenience and preventing train overcrowding during the busy summer season.
