Sirri Sureyya Onder's Health Condition Remains Serious

The statements regarding the health condition of the Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder revealed that his condition remains serious. Doctors reported that Önder's life-threatening condition continues.

Emergency Intervention and Prolonged Surgery

The Rector of the Hospital Responsible for Medical Processes, Prof. Dr. Çavlan Çiftçi, explained in detail the process of Önder being brought to the hospital and the interventions performed. Çiftçi stated that Önder was brought to the hospital by 112 Ambulance teams without a pulse, intubated and with heart-lung massage, and that as a result of the intervention performed in the emergency room, spontaneous circulation was provided and a pulse was taken. It was stated that Önder was diagnosed with Type 1 aortic dissection as a result of the emergency echocardiography.

Prof. Dr. Çiftçi reported that Önder's pulse and circulation stopped again due to arrhythmia and he was taken to the operating room urgently. He said that the surgery lasted approximately 12 hours and that it was determined that the aortic dissection started from the right coronary and covered the entire aorta. It was also stated that the dissection starting from the right coronary caused a small rupture and perforation.

Life-threatening risk continues

Stating that after all the procedures performed after the surgery, Sırrı Süreyya Önder was taken to the intensive care unit with the support of a heart circulation mechanical support device, Prof. Dr. Çiftçi stated that Önder's life risk continues and his treatment in the intensive care unit continues.
