
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made important statements before the opening program of the “Net Zero Emission Roadmap in Transportation Project” to be held in Ankara on April 24. Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that the project aims to create a green, digital and sustainable infrastructure by reducing carbon emissions in the transportation sector.
Roadmap to Zero Emission Target
Minister Uraloğlu stated that the main purpose of the project is to create a roadmap to reduce emissions from transportation to zero. He stated that detailed explanations will be made in the program regarding sustainability in Türkiye's transportation sector, reduction of carbon emissions and environmentally friendly transportation policies.
Sustainable Transport Strategy in Cooperation with the EU
Emphasizing that the project was prepared in line with Türkiye's net zero emission target, Uraloğlu said that the project, implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure within the scope of financial cooperation with the European Union (EU), is a comprehensive strategy that clarifies the role the sector will undertake for sustainable transportation.
Green, Digital and Sustainable Infrastructure
Minister Uraloğlu said, “We aim to create a green, digital and sustainable infrastructure by reducing carbon emissions in the transportation sector.” He stated that concrete policy goals and strategies will be developed for sustainability in transportation at the event. The scope, strategic goals and basic components of the project will be shared with the public at the event, which will be attended by public institutions, private sector representatives, academics and environmental policy experts.
Energy Efficiency and Smart Transportation Applications Will Be Discussed
Uraloğlu stated that the event will address issues such as steps to increase energy efficiency in transportation infrastructure, electric transportation systems, rail system investments and smart transportation applications, and that the transportation sector's net zero emission vision will be evaluated. This project is considered an important step towards an environmentally friendly and sustainable future in Türkiye's transportation sector.
