Railway Bridge from Kayseri to Southern Ports

Kayseri İncesu Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) is taking a historic step to carry the production power of regional industrialists to the important ports of the Mediterranean via railway with the “Railway Logistics Center Project” implemented with the strategic support of the General Directorate of State Railways of the Republic of Turkey (TCDD). Work is continuing at full speed for this huge freight center, which will ensure that various products produced by industrial establishments in both Kayseri and the surrounding provinces are delivered to the ports of Mersin and İskenderun in the south in a fast, safe and economical manner.

First Pickaxe Hit: Region’s Largest Rail Freight Hub Rises

The first concrete step of the project was realized with the first excavation in January 2025. This logistics center, which will be built on a large area of approximately 170 thousand square meters within the borders of Incesu OSB, will carry the title of the largest rail system freight center in the region when completed. This strategic investment is expected to significantly increase the industrial and commercial potential of not only Incesu OSB but also the entire Central Anatolia Region.

Uninterrupted Access to Ports with Railway Connection

At the heart of the freight center, there will be a special railway line of approximately 2 kilometers. This line will be integrated with the existing Kayseri-Niğde railway main line, allowing industrialists to take their goods directly from the stop in İncesu OSB and move south without interruption. Thanks to this integration, the time and cost losses caused by land transportation will be eliminated, and it will be easier to transport products to strategically important ports such as Mersin and then İskenderun. This will provide regional industrialists with a significant competitive advantage in opening up to international markets.

İncesu OSB: The Locomotive of Production and Export

İncesu OSB President İrfan Püsküllü made statements emphasizing the industrial power of the region and the importance of this project. Stating that İncesu OSB, which covers a huge area of 12,5 million square meters, is among the top 15 OSBs in Türkiye, Püsküllü stated that the region, which provides employment for approximately 6 thousand people, makes a significant contribution of approximately 125-130 million dollars to Kayseri's total exports annually. Drawing attention to the fact that they are a small district, they leave behind industrial establishments in many big cities, Püsküllü said that İncesu OSB has become a center of attraction with the investments made and that this strategic cargo container investment of TCDD will add strength to the power of the region.

Logistics Support to Central Anatolia's Production Dynamo

President Püsküllü reiterated their determination to increase employment and production and detailed the strategic importance of the “Railway Logistics Center Project” for the region. Püsküllü stated that the project foresees an investment cost of approximately 2025 million liras for TCDD for 116 and a total investment cost of approximately 2026 million liras by the end of 384, and conveyed that work is ongoing to build a modern logistics freight center of 170 thousand square meters together with the State Railways. Püsküllü stated that the cost of this center to İncesu OSB will be approximately 400 million liras, and emphasized that when the project is completed, a total investment of approximately 1 billion liras will be brought to the region together with TCDD. Püsküllü stated that the freight container center to be built will provide great logistics support not only to İncesu OSB, but also to Kayseri OSB, Mimar Sinan OSB, Free Zone and industrial establishments in the surrounding provinces, and added that this project is considered one of the largest and most important projects of the region.

Significant Reduction in Carbon Footprint with Rail Transport

President Püsküllü drew attention to the fact that the project will provide significant contributions to environmental sustainability in addition to its economic benefits. Emphasizing that railway transportation causes much lower carbon emissions compared to road transportation, Püsküllü said, “Our largest export region is Europe. There will be some tax quotas related to exports regarding carbon footprint. In order to prevent these, railway transportation is preferred over road transportation. Hopefully, we are trying to make a significant contribution to this with this center.” Thanks to this project, regional industrialists will both gain cost advantage and take an important step in complying with environmental regulations that are increasingly gaining importance in international markets.

Great Convenience for Exporters: Fast and Economical Access

Referring to the conveniences that the project will provide to exporters, President Püsküllü announced that the products produced by industrialists will be delivered to the Mersin and İskenderun ports in the fastest and most economical way. This will increase the competitive power of the regional industry and allow for a significant increase in export volume. It is anticipated that this strategic project, which will facilitate export and import, will make İncesu OSB a center of attraction not only regionally but also nationally and internationally, and will significantly increase new investments to be made in the district. President Püsküllü expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders, especially President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, and TCDD General Manager Veysi Kurt, for their support for this visionary project. This cooperation and investment opens the doors to a new economic period for Kayseri and its surroundings.
