22 suspects were detained in an arms smuggling operation in Şanlıurfa. The security forces' fight against arms smuggling continues in Şanlıurfa. Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams carried out simultaneous operations at 24 different addresses in the Bozova, Siverek and Viranşehir districts.
During the operations, 6 Kalashnikov infantry rifles, 1 G-3 infantry rifle, 2 G-1 infantry rifles, 1 Thompson submachine gun, 20 unlicensed pistols, 13 unlicensed hunting rifles, 70 magazines for various weapons, and 2 cartridges of different diameters and sizes were seized.
22 suspects were detained within the scope of the investigation.
Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak made a statement on the issue and said, “Our determined struggle against all kinds of criminal elements that disturb the peace and threaten the security of the society in Şanlıurfa continues unabated.”
