New Season Seedling Excitement in Mamak Ecological Village

Mamak Municipality has once again demonstrated the importance it gives to agriculture and nature. With the arrival of spring, the new season seedling planting was carried out in the greenhouses located in the Ecological Village in Gökçeyurt Neighborhood by the Rural Services Directorate. The production process that started with ancestral seeds has found life again in the fertile lands of Mamak.

Mamak Municipality continues to contribute to district agriculture with sustainable agriculture projects. In the Ecological Village greenhouses located in Gökçeyurt Neighborhood, the seeds of many vegetable species such as tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, watermelons, melons and curly lettuce were planted in the spring season. The seedlings grown at the end of these planting activities carried out with both local ancestral seeds and efficient hybrid seeds will take root in the fruit and vegetable gardens of Mamak Municipality. In this way, both production will be supported and citizens will be provided with access to natural, healthy and economical products.

This production journey, which started in greenhouses, will be brought to the table with the harvest in the summer months.

Agricultural Start to Spring from Mamak Municipality

Emphasizing that the municipality’s agricultural projects shape not only the present but also the future of Mamak in the long term, Mamak Mayor Veli Gündüz Şahin also drew attention to the importance of keeping ancestral seeds alive and said, “This bond we have established with the soil means not only production, but also respect for nature, healthy generations and a self-sufficient Mamak. Keeping ancestral seeds alive, supporting the agriculture of our district and contributing to our citizens are important to us. Soil is our memory, the values we bring from the past, the heritage we have taken root in and the trust we will leave to the future.”

Agricultural Projects Will Continue With Determination

The importance that Mamak Municipality gives to agriculture and production will not be limited to seasonal work. Agricultural projects initiated throughout the district, especially the Ecological Village, will continue to increase. Production-oriented studies will continue in many areas, from the protection of local seeds to the dissemination of natural production and educational programs.
