
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that 80,7 million people in Türkiye use mobile phones. Minister Uraloğlu stated that 16 percent of internet users aged 96,9 and over use a mobile phone to access the internet, and said, “We spend an average of 4 hours and 4 minutes a day on the internet via our mobile phones.”
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu evaluated the mobile usage data in the Digital 2025 Turkey report prepared by We Are Social and Meltwater. Minister Uraloğlu stated that the population of Turkey will reach 2025 million as of 87,6 and said, “92,1 million people, which is 80,7 percent of our population, use mobile phones.”
97,6 Percent of Internet Users Own a Mobile Phone
Stating that the number of people using the internet constitutes 88,3 percent of the population, Uraloğlu said, “There are 77,3 million internet users in our country. According to the report, 16 percent of internet users aged 97,6 and over have a mobile phone; 62,8 percent have a desktop or laptop computer.”
Minister Uraloğlu also stated that 16 percent of internet users aged 96,9 and over use a mobile phone to access the internet, followed by smartphones with 95,2 percent.
56,3 Percent of Time Spent on the Internet is Mobile
Minister Uraloğlu, who stated that the time spent on the internet reached an average of 7 hours and 13 minutes per day, said, “The share of mobile in this period is 56.3 percent. In other words, we spend an average of 4 hours and 4 minutes per day on the internet via our mobile phones. The daily time spent on computers and tablets is 3 hours and 9 minutes.” Uraloğlu also stated that 73,1 percent of web traffic in Türkiye is made up of mobile phones, and that the share of laptops and desktops, which are the closest followers, is 25,5 percent.
