Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay visited the Konya Science Center, Türkiye's first and largest science center supported by TÜBİTAK, over the weekend and met with young people and families participating in the events. The agriculture-themed events held at the Konya Science Center, which has become a major attraction in the city, attracted great interest from young people and families.
Konya Science Center Became Türkiye's Science Brand
President Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that Konya Science Center has become a well-known and appreciated science brand in Türkiye in a short time. President Altay stated that numerous scientific events, workshops and exhibitions are organized in the center throughout the year and said that the center aims to make visitors of all ages love science and encourage scientific curiosity. He emphasized that Konya Science Center creates an important scientific platform not only for Konya but for all of Türkiye.
Agriculture Themed Events Organized on the Occasion of the Agriculture Fair
President Altay stated that Konya Science Center has permanent exhibitions that are constantly renewed for visitors from both Konya and surrounding provinces, as well as temporary education areas with different themes periodically. President Altay stated that this week's theme is agriculture and said, “As you know, agriculture has been an important agenda item in Konya this week due to the Agriculture Fair. On this occasion, we organized events to make our children and guests who come to the Science Center love agriculture. Konya is a city that produces not only for itself but also for Türkiye's food security. We organize events to make our children love agriculture so that production can be passed down from generation to generation.” President Altay announced that Konya Science Center will continue to host its visitors with important and interesting events in the future.

Examining the activity areas at the Konya Science Center closely, President Uğur İbrahim Altay had a friendly conversation with the youth and other visitors to the center. Observing the youth’s interest and curiosity in science, President Altay explained the importance of science to them and encouraged them to become successful individuals in the field of science in the future. Also closely interested in families, President Altay emphasized that the Science Center is an important place where families can spend quality time with their children and learn new information.
