Keles Menteşe Irrigation Pond Comes into Service in Bursa

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, through BUSKI General Directorate, continues to implement important projects to support agricultural production in rural areas. In this context, with the completion of the Keles Menteşe irrigation pond, 290 acres of agricultural land in the region will meet with modern irrigation water.

With the works carried out by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality BUSKI General Directorate Water Facilities Department, important steps are being taken in terms of supplying irrigation water, which is one of the most important needs of rural producers. Keles Menteşe irrigation pond stands out as a concrete example of these efforts. With a total storage area of ​​96 thousand 655 cubic meters, this pond will be able to irrigate 290 decares of land.

According to the statement made by BUSKI General Directorate, the membrane irrigation pond built in Menteşe Neighborhood of Keles district spreads over an area of ​​49 thousand 500 square meters. The connection works of the pond, which will provide life water to 290 decares of agricultural land, are planned to be completed in 2025. Designing the project in accordance with the drip irrigation system will ensure efficient use of water and will make a significant contribution to the agricultural development of the region.

Such irrigation projects of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality for producers in rural areas not only increase agricultural production but also draw attention with their positive reflections on the regional economy. The fact that a total of 1290 acres of agricultural land will be provided with water with similar irrigation pond projects in Gemlik Şükriye and Orhaneli Gümüşpınar is considered as an important indicator of Bursa's rural development vision.
