
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) continues to organize free traffic trainings at Kurtuluş Park Traffic Education Center in order to raise conscious drivers and pedestrians of the future. From Theoretical Knowledge to Practical Application
ABB's Traffic Education Center located in Kurtuluş Park is hosting the little people of the capital with spring term trainings that will continue until June 20, 2025. Children first learn basic traffic topics such as traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, school crossings, use of overpasses, the importance of seat belts and safe crossing rules theoretically with expert trainers. Then, they have the opportunity to reinforce what they have learned practically on a specially prepared track with battery-powered cars.
Traffic Awareness for 10 Thousand Children Every Year

Traffic Education Center Manager Seda Kalkan, stating the high demand for training, said, “We make appointments through the online system. Our target audience is kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade students. Our aim is to make children gain traffic awareness at an early age. First, we provide theoretical information in the classroom. Then, we have practical training outside on the track. After this training, children drive on the track with battery-powered cars. They learn both what they can do as pedestrians and what to pay attention to while driving, while having fun.”
“Traffic Inspector” Badge for Little Ones
Kalkan, who stated that special “Traffic Inspector” logo badges were distributed to the children at the end of the trainings in order to increase the motivation of the students and to create awareness about traffic, said, “After the training here, the children become traffic inspectors. We wanted to create a little more awareness when they are driving with their families or when they are on the road or in traffic.” With this meaningful work of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, conscious and sensitive individuals of the future are being raised.
