Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues its work to create disaster awareness in society. In this context, the Disaster Affairs Department carried out “Disaster Awareness Training and Evacuation Drill” in schools operating in the Darıca district.
VITAL INFORMATION SHARED
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality organizes “Disaster Awareness Trainings” for students across the city. In the trainings, vital information is shared about what to do before, during and after a disaster.
In this context, the Disaster Affairs Department, together with the Darıca Municipality Disaster Affairs Branch Directorate, provided training in 11 schools in Darıca. Expert trainers provided evacuation drill training to prepare teachers for a possible disaster and disaster awareness training to students. 1.194 teachers and 8.114 students attended the training.
DISASTER AWARENESS TRAINING AND EARTHQUAKE DRILL
During the training, teachers were informed about precautions they can take before, during and after a disaster, ways to protect their families and safe areas. At the end of the training, earthquake evacuation drills were carried out in schools. During the drill, teachers had the opportunity to practice the precautions they need to take against disasters and emergencies for themselves, their students and their families. The trainings provided by the Metropolitan Municipality aim to create a society that is conscious and prepared for disasters.
