The Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works signed an agreement worth $8,1 million with Proyapı Engineering and Consulting, one of Türkiye’s leading engineering firms, for the design of the Kuwait-Saudi Arabia railway line, an important part of the massive railway network that aims to strengthen trade and transportation between the Gulf Cooperation Countries. Comprehensive Engineering and Consulting Services are the Responsibility of Proyapı
The signed contract covers not only Proyapı Mühendislik ve Müşavirlik’s provision of engineering and consultancy services for the railway line, but also the preparation of detailed tender documents to be used in the project’s tender processes. Railway Line Targeted to Be Completed by 2030
The planned railway line will start from the strategically important Shadadiya station, located approximately 25 kilometers southwest of Kuwait City, and extend to the border town of Nuwaiseeb, close to the Saudi Arabian border. All phases of the project are expected to be completed and put into service by 2030.
Construction Tenders Will Be Announced Soon
Following the successful completion of the design phase by Proyapı, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works will begin issuing invitations for construction tenders for the project. According to reports, seven separate construction tenders are expected to be announced for this important railway segment in early 2025.
