First Phase Completed, Preparations for Second Phase Have Begun
Minister Bayraktar shared the latest status of natural gas production in the Sakarya Gas Field, announcing that the first phase has been completed and preparations for the second phase have begun. “With a daily production of approximately 9,5 million cubic meters, we are currently continuing the production of the second phase, that is, the activities of the production phase that will double this,” he said, indicating that work to increase production capacity is continuing rapidly.
New Fields and Discoveries Are Targeted
Minister Bayraktar, who emphasized that they will not be satisfied with just the Sakarya Gas Field, announced that exploration work in new fields is also ongoing. “In addition to the Sakarya Gas Field, we are also continuing our work in new fields, namely exploration. Therefore, on the one hand, we want to increase production, and on the other hand, we want to add new reserves that we find with new discoveries to our production reserves. Work continues in this vein,” he said, setting forth Türkiye’s goal of diversifying and increasing its energy resources.
