Comprehensive Support from the State to Cemevis

Minister Ersoy: “In 2024, we met the maintenance-repair and furnishing demands from 97 cemevis, 355 of which are in earthquake zones. We aim to meet the maintenance-repair demands from 2025 cemevis in 500. As of today, we are meeting the lighting expenses of 916 cemevis.”

Within the scope of the works carried out under the leadership of the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi Presidency met the maintenance-repair and furnishing demands from 2024 cemevis in 355.

Minister Ersoy announced that the aim is to process the requests of more than 2025 cemevis in 500.

Reminding that the activities of the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi Presidency, which has been in service for two years, and the services provided to the cemevis are an indicator of social unity and public equality, Ersoy also emphasized the strong support given to the process by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Stating that the activities of the Presidency are not limited to physical support only, Ersoy stated that the work is carried out with an understanding that ensures equal access of the Alevi-Bektashi community to public services.

Ersoy emphasized that the services for cemevis were planned to cover all of Türkiye and that a system was established where local demands were directly met.

97 Cemevis Damaged in the Earthquake Restored

As a result of the field scans carried out by the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi Presidency, a total of 2 cemevis were identified throughout Türkiye.

Minister Ersoy announced that a total of 1.200 petitions were delivered from 1.900 cemevis, and that more than half of the cemevis applied for maintenance, repair and furnishing in a short period of two years.

Ersoy said, “We revived 97 cemevis that were damaged in the earthquakes of the century. In the upcoming period, we will complete the construction of 13 new cemevis in the earthquake zone.”

Applications were responded to quickly and comprehensively

Minister Ersoy, who stated that the petitions from the Cemevis were evaluated and finalized in a short time, said, “The demands have been largely met. We offer a wide range of maintenance, repair and furnishing support. The process is carried out in an accessible and effective manner.”
