Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is preparing to complete a comprehensive restoration work at the Çandarlı Social Facility, which was previously operated by the Dikili Municipality and is preparing to put the facility back into service for the people of Izmir. The facility, which is built on an area of 4 thousand square meters and has a capacity of 78 beds, will be of primary use especially to citizens who have difficulty in reaching the holiday, and includes modern accommodation units as well as a swimming pool, children's playgrounds and various social facilities.
Idle Facility Comes to Life Again
As a result of meticulous work carried out by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Construction, the facility consisting of 39 motels, which had been idle for a long time at the entrance of Çandarlı, was completely renovated with an investment of 22 million 405 thousand liras. After the completion of the interior decoration arrangements, the facility will be opened to the use of all Izmir residents, especially those with socio-economic disadvantages and those who have difficulty accessing holidays, under the coordination of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Social Services.
Seaside Location and Modern Facilities
Mehmet Yeşilbağ, Civil Engineer at the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Construction Department, stated that the facility is located at the entrance of Çandarlı and only 30 meters from the sea, and provided information about the renovation work. Yeşilbağ said, “The bathroom and sink sections of the motels were completely renewed. Reinforcement work was carried out throughout the structures. Necessary renovations and arrangements were made in the restaurant section. The swimming pool, which had not been used for a long time, was reactivated. In addition, landscaping was done and new play and sports areas were added to the facility.”
Enriched with New Social Areas
A modern swimming pool of 145 square meters was built in the facility, which draws attention with its proximity to the sea. Designed in a way that disabled citizens can easily use, special playgrounds were created for children to spend time safely and enjoyably. In addition to restaurants and recreation areas where guests can meet their food and beverage needs, it was aimed to offer a holiday experience surrounded by green areas. In this context, a 30 thousand square meter meadow area and a 6 thousand 500 square meter planted green area arrangement were also implemented in the facility.
Thanks to this important investment by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, a modern and comfortable social facility will be offered to the service of the people of Izmir in Dikili Çandarlı. The facility, which will be an important alternative especially for citizens with limited transportation opportunities for vacation, will also contribute to regional tourism.
