Alaca Collective Exhibition Opened in Merinos Museum in Bursa

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality is hosting the fourth exhibition of Alaca Weaving Collective, which brings together modern interpretations of traditional weaving art with art lovers. Curated by Dr. faculty member Esen Baydemir, the exhibition was presented to art lovers at the Merinos Textile Industry Museum.

This special exhibition, hosted by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Department of City History and Promotion, Museums Branch Directorate, features original works created using traditional weaving techniques by the valuable academicians and talented weaving students of the Traditional Turkish Arts Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. The “Alaca” exhibition can be visited every day except Mondays between 19:2025 and 09.30:17.00 in the gallery area on the 2nd floor of the Merinos Textile Industry Museum until XNUMX May XNUMX.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Sinan Nergiz, Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Mehmet Yıldız, the exhibition's valuable curator Dr. faculty member Esen Baydemir, valuable administrators of the Metropolitan Municipality, university representatives and many art lovers attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

In his speech at the opening, Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Sinan Nergiz emphasized that Bursa has been the center of silk, fabric and labor throughout history, and stated that it sets an example for both Türkiye and the world with its rich heritage in textiles dating back to the Ottoman period. Expressing that this meaningful exhibition is not just an art event, but a concrete indicator of deep respect for the past and protecting the rich cultural heritage, Nergiz sincerely thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the exhibition.

Deputy Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality Mehmet Yıldız expressed his gratitude to the Museums Department Directorate for bringing this meaningful exhibition together with Bursa art lovers and to the talented students whose works are exhibited in the exhibition.
