The good news that will provide ease of transportation has been made official and entered into force with the Presidential Decree. Accordingly, on May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day, which falls on Thursday, and May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk and Youth and Sports Day, which will be celebrated on Monday, Başkentray (Ankara), Marmaray (Istanbul) and İZBAN (Izmir), which are indispensable for urban transportation, will carry their passengers free of charge.
Toll-Free Lines Scope Expanded
Within the scope of the decision in question, the rail system lines that will provide free service are not limited to Başkentray, Marmaray and İZBAN. The Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line serving in Istanbul and the Gayrettepe-İstanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro Line, which provides urban transportation and airport connection in particular, will also be offered free of charge to citizens on the specified holiday days. This application will facilitate holiday visits, participation in events and urban transportation, allowing citizens to experience the joy of the holiday more comfortably.
