Ankara-Izmir High-Speed ​​Train Will Directly Reach 7 Million People

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that Ankara’s railway infrastructure has undergone a significant transformation, and that the capital’s entire railway network has been renewed and modernized. Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that with the commissioning of the Ankara-Eskişehir, Ankara-İstanbul, Ankara-Konya and finally Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​Train lines, Ankara has become the center of the 2-kilometer high speed train network. He added that high speed trains (YHT) have provided fast, comfortable and safe transportation to approximately 251 million passengers to date.

Ankara-Izmir High-Speed ​​Train Will Directly Reach 7 Million People

Minister Uraloğlu, who stated that they continue their high-speed train projects without interruption, also shared important information about the 505-kilometer Ankara-Izmir High-Speed ​​Train Project, which will bring two big cities, Ankara and Izmir, into neighboring territory. Minister Uraloğlu announced the good news that with the completion of this project, the rail travel time between Ankara and Izmir will decrease from 14 hours to only 3,5 hours. He also stated that this line, which will provide direct service to approximately 7 million people living in the provinces of Ankara, Afyonkarahisar, Uşak, Manisa and Izmir, will also make significant contributions to the revival of domestic tourism in the region.

Super-Fast Train Coming Between Ankara and Istanbul

Minister Uraloğlu also gave the good news of a completely new Super High Speed ​​Train Line project that will connect Ankara to Istanbul. Stating that the preliminary project work for the project has been completed, Uraloğlu announced that trains will reach a speed of 344 kilometers per hour on the 350-kilometer Super High Speed ​​Train line. Stating that the travel time between Ankara and Istanbul will be reduced to just 80 minutes, Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that this project will transform transportation between the two major metropolises into a journey in time. These revolutionary developments in Ankara's railway infrastructure will strengthen the capital's transportation network, providing great convenience for passengers and providing significant momentum to Türkiye's high-speed train vision.
