Special Emergency Service for Children Opened in TRNC!

The fully equipped Pediatric Emergency Service at the Near East University Hospital has begun providing emergency health services for children 7/24. Experienced pediatricians, pediatric-trained nurses, child psychologists, preschool education specialists, pediatric emergency service personnel, and the “Pediatric Emergency Service”, which offers 24-hour uninterrupted imaging and laboratory facilities, are now safe 7/24!

Near East University Hospital, which meets the island’s need for qualified health services in all branches with its experienced physician staff and well-equipped infrastructure, continues to expand its service network with the “Pediatric Emergency Service” it has opened. The pediatric emergency, which will provide service with the “Child-Friendly Emergency” concept, will provide special services for children 7/24. The service, which is fully equipped with experienced pediatricians, pediatric-trained nurses, child psychologists, preschool education specialists, pediatric emergency service personnel and 24-hour uninterrupted imaging-laboratory facilities, will meet an important need in the field of child health in Cyprus.

The Pediatric Emergency Service, which will provide services integrated with the modern infrastructure of the Near East University Hospital, will provide fast and safe 7/24 treatment for emergency health problems of pediatric patients.

The health problems that children most often visit the emergency room for include high fever, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, diarrhea, vomiting, rashes, allergic reactions, and seizures. In order to effectively intervene in such emergencies, an expert staff and a child-friendly environment are required. The Near East University Hospital aims to meet this need on the island with its pediatric emergency service.

Will Provide Service 7/24!

Near East University Hospital Child Health and Diseases Specialist and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Manager Prof. Dr. Ceyhun Dalkan emphasized that a special approach and equipment is needed to effectively intervene in pediatric patients in emergencies. Prof. Dr. Dalkan, who stated that “A ‘child-friendly’ emergency service designed solely for pediatric patients was an important need,” said, “In our pediatric emergency service, there are nurses and technical teams trained in pediatrics, in addition to our physicians who will provide 7/24 service. In addition, we will provide service with our capacity to quickly integrate with our inpatient services, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units when necessary, and our fully equipped infrastructure that provides service in all branches.”

Emphasizing the importance of correct diagnosis and rapid intervention in emergency situations, Near East University Hospital Child Health and Diseases Department Head and Pediatric Immunology and Allergy Specialist Prof. Dr. Nerin Nadir Bahçeciler Önder said, “Especially in many emergencies that require rapid intervention such as asthma attacks, serious allergic reactions, respiratory distress, seizures, children with fever, changes in consciousness, severe vomiting and diarrhea, our Pediatric Emergency Service will make life easier for both the child and the family.”
